That article describes the job management module of the GeoOp mobile app that helps you create jobs and keep them up-to-date.

What is the GeoOp Job List?

The GeoOp mobile app enables you to easily view your jobs and access/update them while on the go. You can access your Job List view the ... icon from the horizontal navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.

Simply tap on a job card to access the details of the job.

Is the Jobs List showing the entire history of jobs?

By default, your jobs list shows:

  • All jobs with upcoming bookings (any booking in the future)

  • All jobs active in the last 6 months (any update on the job in the last 6 months)

Jobs with no upcoming booking and no activity in the last 6 months will automatically be cleaned-up from your device to optimise the size that the app takes on your local memory. Without such mechanism in place, the app size will grow indefinitely over the years and end up taking all your device's memory, or cause other apps to stop functioning.

However, "old" jobs that have been cleaned-up from your device are still accessible via the app. To access them, simply initiate a search on the jobs list, using any information about that job (client name, address, job title, reference number, etc.). The first results that the search will return are the jobs stored locally on your device, but at the bottom of the list you will see a button "Search on GeoOp cloud". Simply tap that button to retrieve all the jobs from the GeoOp server and download them locally.

How can I filter the job list?

You can easily filter your job list by clicking on the icon at the top right of your screen. The job list can be filtered by:

  • Job type ;

  • Booking date (on list view only) ;

  • Job status.

You can also order by Booking date and Creation date by clicking on the button above the job list. You can also sort by Ascending or Descending order by clicking on the Order button by clicking on the button above the job list.

Can I search for specific jobs?

Yes, you can easily search for jobs with your job list by clicking on the search icon at the top right of your screen.

The job list can be searched by:

  • Job reference ;

  • Job title and description ;

  • Job address ;

  • Client (first name, last name or company name).

Please note that to optimise performance and to save space on your device, the app only download jobs that have been active in the last 2 months OR that have at least one booking scheduled in the future.

However, if you need to access jobs older than 2 months, simply search for it on the job list and press "Search in GeoOp cloud". All jobs returned by the search will be downloaded on your device and available.

From the Job screen, simply press the + icon on the horizontal navigation bar at the bottom of your screen and select "New job".

Important

That link is only visible by users who have been granted the "Create Jobs and Clients" permission by their GeoOp Administrator.

Can I view all jobs or only the ones assigned to me?

GeoOp has a very extensive permissions capabilities and the access to jobs can be managed by your GeoOp Administrator.

  • Jobs not yet assigned to any staff are accessible if your GeoOp Administrator granted you the permission "View unassigned Jobs" ;

  • Jobs assigned to other staff are accessible if your GeoOp Administrator granted you the permission "View all Jobs" ;

  • Jobs that you have created but that are not assigned to you are accessible if your GeoOp Administrator granted you the permission "View self-created Jobs".

How to keep my jobs up-to-date?

Click on a job card to access it and keep it up-to-date from anywhere by updating its details, status and priority.

From the job Overview tab:

  • Click on the edit button at the top right corner of your screen to update the job details (job name, description, client and address) ;

  • Click on the job status or priority fields and select the new value to update it quickly.

How to navigate to the job address?

Simply click on the Job Address field displayed on the Overview tab. You can chose to view the address on a map with the GeoOp app or to select amongst your favourites app to navigate to this address.

How to access the client details for a specific job?

Simply click on the job card and then on the Client field displayed on the Overview tab. You will be redirected to the client screen where you can view contact details, jobs, quotes and invoices for that client.

How can I export a list of my jobs?

Exporting your jobs is only possible in the desktop (console) version of GeoOp and is not possible within the app. You can read more about exporting jobs in this article.
